The goal of the syndicate is to protect the stream "Chiers" by effectively and efficiently treating wastewater before it is discharged back into the natural environment. This involves removing pollutants and harmful substances from wastewater to ensure the treated water meets established quality standards and doesn't cause harm to ecosystems. Furthermore, the union completes all necessary tasks whilst complying to the "polluter pays" principle.
In addition, the syndicate takes on administrative and technical role as part of the water partnership "Chiers" held with the state in accordance with the modified water law of 19 December 2008.
