The Musée FERRUM in Kayl/Tétange is a local history museum that traces the development of the region from the Stone Age to the present day. Through a rich collection of exhibits and historical artefacts, visitors can explore the local industries that shaped the area's economic and social growth during the 19th and 20th centuries.
The permanent exhibition showcases the production of traditional mining lamps known as “Karbidsluuchten”, Luxembourg-made mining wagons called “Buggies”, and the history of the shoe industry. Located next to the Schungfabrik Cultural Centre, the museum also highlights the important role of miners and the labour movement in shaping the region’s identity.
A dedicated temporary exhibition area regularly hosts presentations from the MUAR – Musée du travail, works by Emile Kirscht, and other cultural projects. A special space for children offers educational workshops that encourage a creative exploration of local history and the world of art.
