Ratu belongs to the Rum Co. of Fiji brand, behind which is the Australian Liam Costello. He has worked in the drinks industry for more than 40 years. Among other things, he was winemaker at Penfolds and had many collaborations with well-known brands, including Plantation. He was responsible for the Plantation Fiji 2009 and Costello has incredible expertise. I would even go so far as to say that he is one of the top 5 master distillers in the rum scene worldwide. The Fiji Islands are located in the South Pacific, north-east of Australia. The Rum Co. of Fiji distillery is based in Lautoka on the west coast. The city is also the centre of sugar production and rum has been produced here since 1980.
