The family-run Caves Berna winery in the wine village of Ahn on the Luxembourg Moselle has been focussing on the highest quality in the vineyard and in wine production for three generations. On a total area of 7.5 hectares in the best vineyard sites around the winegrowing village of Ahn, wine varieties specific to Luxembourg are cultivated - Elbling, Rivaner, Auxerrois, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay - from which the winegrowers and cellar masters Marc and Raymond produce a diverse and multi-faceted range of wines.
It is in our interest to develop the wines and crémants in a variety-specific way. We also attach great importance to a good balance between acidity and sweetness. The region-specific minerality and fruitiness of the wines is due, among other things, to the shell limestone and keuper-rich soil of the northern Luxembourg Moselle and so care is taken to ensure natural viticulture throughout the entire wine production process. Until the products are ready, the grapes and vineyards are cultivated in harmony with nature. Furthermore, modern technologies ensure optimal cellar management and contribute to high-quality wine production.
Always interested in the further development of the winery and wine production, the family business participates in the Charta Privatwinzer.
