At the beginning of the year, several addresses are on my list of restaurants to discover! One of them was Mad About Perú! With a first restaurant in Dudelange, this restaurant specializes in Peruvian opens a second address in Luxembourg City, for our greatest pleasure.
Located in the premises of the former Mama Shelter, the interior is beautifully decorated with bistro chairs repainted in several bright colors, Peruvian masks hanging on the walls and colorful pictures! It's already a good start, right?
To get started and help me decide, I had no choice but to order a Pisco Sour (yes I know, it's hard). This typical Peruvian cocktail is prepared with Pisco (alcohol), lime, sugar and egg white! Yes, yes, I hear you and you are right: this cocktail is drunk like whey (which it is not yet) and the one prepared by Mad About Perú was simply delicious ... I had no choice but to order a second in order to be sure (yes I know, it's very hard). Order without fear.
On each table, paper placemats give you some fun facts about the Ceviche , which Ernest Hemingway apparently loved: "How good it is, when one eats it cooked, and how miserable it is. I will never leave in a boat without carrying salt and lemons ". Ernest's words in the "Old Man and the Sea", not mine.
With this incredible teaser, I rushed to order the classic Ceviche way "Mad". Include fish , sweet potatoes , red onions, coriander , lime and roasted corn . All is said. This entree was extremely plentiful, in addition to being delicious! I have nothing to add, fresh, full of taste, clearly my favorite dish.

My friend has meanwhile taken the tuna marinated with avocado and capers, served on a puree (cold!) potatoes. The dish was beautiful visually and good! Again, this appetizer was served very richly, so you will not leave Mad's home hungry, that's for sure.

For the rest, I had trouble to decide for the dish. The menu is quite varied, including Tacu tacu, a tortilla (egg and red bean) served on slices of beef, ceviche cooked with shrimp or a salad of quinoa and marinated tuna, In short TOO many choices for me, big indecisive.
On the waitress's advice and knowing that I was a carnivore, I ordered Lomo Saltado, marinated wok beef served with rice and fries. I confess I did not understand why put french fries AND rice, but both were good, so banco! The cooking of the meat was sublimely successful. As much the beef marinade was not crazy taste, but this cooking was crazy, which ultimately made me love this dish! It had been a long time since I had eaten a beef so perfect, tender to heart. PERFECT, I tell you.
You will understand that I loved my time at Mad About Perú! The wait was worth it. I went for a noon where, I admit, there were few people (the snow had surely discouraged people!). I can not wait to return one evening to see if the atmosphere is more lively!
Go, you too: be mad, go on a tour of Peru to Hollerich.
And a Pisco Sour, one!
