The Mierscher Theater is a place dedicated to the arts, performance, and exchange.
It offers theatre, concerts, dance performances, as well as exhibitions, lectures, and various workshops.
The institution actively supports professional artists in Luxembourg and carries out numerous national productions and co-productions. In 2021, it launched the Mierscher Theaterdeeg, a biennial festival that celebrates theatre and its authors, playwrights, and directors in all their forms.
The Mierscher Theater offers a specific programme aimed at young audiences (children and teenagers) and educational institutions (early childhood, primary, secondary, and preparatory education).
A pioneer in designing and creating inclusive cultural projects, the Mierscher Theater has been committed since 2007 to improving accessibility in theatres and related professions. It established the dance ensemble blanContact, bringing together artists with and without disabilities; in 2023, it created the national network MOSAIK Kultur Inklusiv, which promotes greater inclusion in culture and brings together numerous institutions from the cultural and social sectors.
The Mierscher Theater is a member of the Theater Federatioun, the Luxembourg Network of Regional Cultural Centres, and Leader Zentrum Westen.
The institution is subsidised by the Municipality of Mersch and the Ministry of Culture.
