For me, leadership is a way of producing remarkable results in a win-win situation.

Remarkable results are, of course, those that support the organisation's objectives and strategy, but above all they are those that surprise, because they are outside the usual framework, because ‘that's the way we've always proceeded’ or because of a lack of hindsight or industry vision.

These results imply an ability to grasp problems, often the most deep-rooted, sometimes the most complex, and to identify and implement innovative ways of solving them. It may also require an ability to interact with experts, to link business issues with those of information technology, and to conceptualise.

As for implementation, this often requires convincing, federating and organising.

I'm used to interacting with all levels of the organisation, so I've got more than one string to my bow when it comes to defining and achieving objectives. The icing on the cake: my experience has led me to acquire a benevolent management style which, without becoming complacent, confronts employees with their responsibilities, and guides them with their potential towards success.

Bottom line: they want more of it!
